Folks

Let's look at the actual numbers this week. No speculation, just the data from the ground in the Northeast.

If you’re a parent trying to navigate this landscape for your daughter right now, you need to understand exactly where the market sits today and, more importantly, what to do about it.

Here is the breakdown:

The 2028 Landscape: The window is closing faster than you think

If you think you have time because you’re a 2028, you are miscalculating the market.

Last week, 203 Division 1 coaches opened and read our "2028 CSN Female Player Rankings" newsletter. The top-ranked defender and midfielder on that list have already committed to powerhouse programs. We have already tracked 31 verbal commitments for Northeast schools—including 12 in the Ivy League alone.

Our next list goes out this Monday morning. If your name isn't on it, you are invisible to the 203 coaches reading it. If you want to be evaluated for next week’s feature, you need to get moving. Don't sleep on this. Coaches are locking up rosters early.

Here's what you get when you join:

A smart ranking system — once you create your profile, our algorithm ranks you based on your Premier Club accolades.

A dedicated profile page built around your game, including your highlight tape and resume. - see examples - https://stevecoxonsoccernetwork.collegeprospector.com/current-players

Weekly exposure — your ranking and profile sent straight to D1, D2, and D3 coaches every single week.

A quick tip from me: if you've earned accolades, list them in your bio. You can add your high school accolades too, but keep in mind those count as secondary.

No contracts. Cancel any time.

More tactics for 2028s right now:

  • Kill the fluff on your film: I still see highlight reels starting with slow-motion edits and graphics packages. Cut it. Put your three best, game-changing plays in the first 15 seconds. If you don't hook a D1 coach immediately, they close the tab and move to the next kid.

  • Stop the blind camp registrations: Do not spend another dime on a summer camp unless you have confirmed that school is actually looking for your position in the 2028 class and they are seriously interested in you. If they don't reply, you aren't on their list.

  • Build a realistic target list: You need 20–30 schools on your board, not just 5 powerhouse programs you see on TV. If your list only contains top-20 RPI programs, you are setting yourself up for a rude awakening in 12 months.

On the flip side, I'm hearing from parents who think the 2027 cycle is completely finished. It isn't. Right now, there are exactly 15 Division 1 schools in the Northeast that are still legitimately recruiting and looking to fill remaining roster spots for the 2027 class.

The door isn't shut, but the window is incredibly small.

Tactics for 2027s right now:

  • Stop broad casting, start sniper shooting: You cannot afford to send generic "I love your program" emails right now. Look at the 15 schools on the board. Pick the ones where you actually fit their playing style, and send a direct message to the recruiting coordinator.

  • Ask the 'Day 1' Question: When you reach out, ask them: "Coach, what specific position or trait are you still hunting for in the 2027 class?" Do not waste time pitching yourself as a center-mid if they only have money left for a holding defender. Find out what they need, then show them you have it.

Next Steps:

If you are a 2027, there is a full, updated list of those 15 Northeast D1 schools still looking for players beloiw….Go grab the list and start reaching out.

If you are a 2028 and want to get ranked on the next list going out on Monday!

Stop guessing. Look at the data and take action.

Cheers.

The D1 Northeast Landscape: 70 Spots Left. Time to Pivot.

We just finished a deep dive into the remaining 2027 Division 1 landscape in our region. If your goal is to play D1 soccer in the Northeast, you need to look at the cold, hard math.

Across the remaining 15 realistic D1 programs in the area, there are roughly 70 total roster spots left. That’s it.

Here is exactly where the numbers stand today:

  • LIU: Pausing 2027 recruitment until after the fall season. They brought in a massive class of 14 players for 2026 and need to see how they perform first.

  • Siena: No longer recruiting 2027’s

  • Stonehill: 2 remaining spots, outside back and a winger.

The RPI Reality Check

Take a hard look at this list. The schools on this list are where the actual scholarships and roster spots are sitting. If you are too proud to email the coach at the #289 RPI school, your kid isn't playing D1 college soccer.

Our data shows Central Connecticut (CCSU) and URI are currently the most active programs reading our newsletter blasts—though tracking shows URI is notoriously slow to reply to individual emails, so don't take their silence personally.

Here is how the remaining open programs rank by their current RPI. Look at this list objectively:

Your Next Steps

  1. Expand the Search: If you are looking at this list and you aren’t actively targeting high-level D2 and D3 programs alongside it, you are risking missing the boat entirely. A roster spot at a top D2 program beats sitting on the bench or getting left behind because you were stubborn about a label.

I am not tracking down individuals to deliver these updates. Once the coaches get back to me, I will be dropping the breakdown directly into the Skool community feed. Make sure your notifications are on. If you want to know how to adjust your target list based on this RPI data, the blueprint is already waiting for you in the Community.

The 30-Day Scholarship Ready Plan

So much of the anxiety in this process comes from feeling like you are guessing. When you have a clear map, the "complexity" of the landscape suddenly becomes manageable, and the stress drops significantly.

I built the 30-Day Scholarship Ready Plan to take the guesswork out of your hands. We strip the emotion out of the process and replace it with a repeatable framework.

  • The Silence Protocol: What to actually say when a coach ignores your first two emails.

  • The Video Audit: How to build a reel that gives them confidence to hit 'send'.

  • The Blueprint: A step-by-step guide to take back control of the summer.

Head straight to the Classroom inside our Skool community and start the 30-Day Plan today. Stop guessing. Let's get to it!

Northeast Female 2028 commitments are now up to 31!

The 2028 floodgates aren’t just open—they are bursting.

in just the past few hours, Pitt, Penn State, Cornell and Columbia have all locked down new 2028 verbal commitments.

The timeline has accelerated. If you are tracking this process based on what your neighbor’s kid did two years ago, you are already behind.

If your phone didn't ring this week, your process isn't over. It just means you are part of the 95% who have to grind. Stop waiting to be discovered and start executing a strategy that forces coaches to look at your film.

The Blueprint in Action

This isn't theory. Take a look at Althea—her family joined our program late in her recruiting journey, executed the strategy, and she just officially committed to D1 Louisiana Tech!

Here is the return on investment for their grind, straight from Althea’s Mom, Kylie Thomas:

Steve provided confident, and knowledgeable advice as we navigated the recruiting process. As an international student-athlete, Althea faced a range of unique challenges, and Steve’s experience and guidance made a meaningful difference. What stood out most was his support, confidence in her and his consistently positive attitude”

Kylie Thomas

Whether you are logging in from Wagga Wagga, Australia, or Windsor, Connecticut—the system works.

Let me be perfectly clear: Althea didn't wait for me to hold her hand. She logged in, pulled the exact outreach templates from the Classroom, stayed consistent, and utilized the Skool community to stay on track. We just removed the noise and the guesswork so she could do the work.
