Emailing College Coaches: Are They Still Interested?

One of the most overlooked parts of the recruiting process isn’t talent — it’s communication.

Hearing “we’re no longer recruiting your position” is hard. But wondering if your emails were ever read? That’s harder.

Clear, honest communication matters. It gives athletes clarity. It saves time, energy, and emotion. It allows players to adjust, pivot, and keep moving forward with confidence instead of doubt. Recruiting is emotional. Silence creates anxiety. Honesty creates direction. To athletes:

Keep reaching out

Follow up professionally

Don’t take every “no” personally — it’s often about roster needs, not your ability

This process isn’t easy. But transparency makes it healthier. Trust the process. Communicate clearly. Keep going.
